Power Walking

Two Powerwalk races will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2027, at Azalea Middle School in St. Petersburg.

The day begins with the 5,000-meter Powerwalk race start at 8:30 AM, giving participants an opportunity to test their endurance and technical skills. Later that afternoon, competitors can take on the 1-mile (1,600-meter) Powerwalk at 4:45 PM.

Both events will take place on Azalea Middle School's 400-meter synthetic six-lane track.  No spikes are allowed. Races will be run according to the modified USA Track & Field (USATF) rules and the USPWA guidelines used in the Florida Senior Games competition. This race will be a timed, but will not be judged by USATF officials. It will be monitored by local officials certified solely to ensure it is truly a walking event. Joggers and runners will be disqualified. *

Whether you prefer the one-mile distance or the challenge of 5,000 meters, come join your fellow athletes for a fun outing and some very competitive powerwalking. If you're up for it, try them both of at the GoodLife Games!

Entry Requirements

1. Power Walk entry fee is $30 for the first event and $10 for the additional Race Walking event.

2. The online registration deadline is Wednesday, February 24th. Late entries may be accepted at the discretion of the Event Director.  Athletes registering after the deadline may be subject to a $10 late fee. NO REFUNDS AFTER THE REGISTRATION DEADLINE.

UNSPORTSMANSLIKE CONDUCT POLICY

Any athlete or accompanying coach  that displays unsportsmanlike conduct on or off the track, including but not limited to abusive/foul language, harassment of meet or event officials, interference during the seeding or monitoring process may be ejected from the facility and eliminated from the competition.
