History
The non-profit organization Good Life Games
Inc. was founded in 1979 and since its conception the Games have
grown tremendously. This organization encourages adults fifty
and over to continue an energetic and active way of life. The
belief that life stops after age fifty is totally absurd to the
men and women of Good Life Games Inc. Their mission is to promote
healthy lifestyles not only by diet but physical and mental stimulation.
Easier said than done? Not at all, there are lots of events like
recreational sports teams, socials, and dances.
The
Games are well known throughout Pinellas County and take place
in spring of each year. Athletes compete in over
forty events over a period of time. The
events of competition include Pickjleball, Basketball (male and female
teams), Biking, Swimming, Tennis, Bowling, Track and Field, only
to name a few. The winners from
each event qualify to display their superb athletic ability at the Florida
State Games. The number of entries for the Games increases
immensely each year, as
the games are not only challenging but also fun and exciting.
