The GOLD TORCH AWARD is designed to honor multitalented individuals from each gender within each 5-year age group.  In order to qualify for the Gold Torch Award, one must participate in a minimum of three different categories of events.

All multiple event categories, such as swimming, track, field, and golf count as only one category.

Tabulation of Points : The highest placement in any event within each category determines that categories overall score. A 3,2,1 score will be used for singles, doubles and team events as well as uncontested events for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers.  The winner of each Gold Torch Award is the individual who accumulates the highest total score through participating in a minimum of three categories of events.

1 st place Gold Metal Gold Torch Points = 3

2 nd place Silver Metal Gold Torch Points = 2

3 rd place Bronze Metal Gold Torch Points = 1

In the event of a Tie, consideration is given to 4th or lower placements in events of categories that a 1st thru 3rd placement has not already been awarded. 

Finalists will be introduced and Gold Torch Awards will be presented at the awards picnic.
